About

As an orthopedic hand surgeon for 30 years, it is a privilege to craft surgical solutions for damaged structures. It is gratifying to restore my patient's ability to use their hands again, to work, to play, and to create.

Creating is for me when I feel most alive. My mind, heart, and hands are integrating together seamlessly.

Throughout the years I  draw, journal or paint nightly.  I feature whatever comes my way that day, uncensored and untempered. My body of work is eclectic and varies over the years, reflecting my experiences over the past 57 years.

This includes inspiration from, my enduring marriage, my 3 children, my stint in the Navy and Gulf War, my time at Johns Hopkins University and the Maryland School of Art, plus medical school, residency, and fellowship, eleven moves, my childhood, my spiritual life, my current battle with cancer, and the joys and frictions of my ordinary life.

I share this in humility and gratitude.
